11/26 major update coming
in writing the next update for Azalea town and beyond I have finally figured out what I want to do.
I will do a screenplay parody/chronicle of my playthrough nearly as it happens instead of dry recounting. Hopefully this will be more interesting to read. Will need to split it into multiple parts as a result. Sure, it's no comic but I want to still make it a fun read.
I will implement the updates on my next update after Thanksgiving as I will be busy with that stuff.

So, I've decided to take the plunge and try out a Nuz run of SS which sounds like killing Nazis but I assure you it's not.
For those unfamiliar with the concept it is bascally a self inposed hard mode for pokemon as popularized and created here at Nuzleaf's comics: www.nuzlocke.com/pokemonhardmo…
They start off very, very rough but get better as time goes on.
there are several subrules but the main rules I will follow are
1.) Only catch 1 first pokemon I encounter each route and whether you catch it or not you cannot catch another on that route. This limits your total number of pokemon and forces you to use alternative strategies that may be less than ideal.
2.) I will nickname all of my pokemon to form a bond with my troops so I can shed man tears when they bite the dust.
3.) If a pokemon faints for any reason it is "dead" in the same vein as Fire Emblem party member permadeath. I will put mine in a graveyard box so I can visit them like Bruce Wayne and his parents.
4.) Trading pokemon is okay as are gift pokemon but I cannot use legendaries which I have no problem with.
So, after I used a boy in my trial run I decided to be a girl named Claire for this Nuzlocke run. I decided to go for long term benefit with Chikorita. Reason being she is one of the better choices to kill the too biggest roadblocks- Whitney and Claire. I am finally done with all the tutorial junk and I named my rival Butthol because I am a child at heart I suppose.
So I'm going to level up Claire my ..... male Chikorita (half of me wants to change it but then the other half says she was born that way XD) and start catching some more mons. Yes, no route 29 and no route 30 pokemon. I'll manage though. Also, in hindsight I named my pokemon after my trainer without thinking...
***Update***
I will amend the rules slightly. In locations with several levels or floors, the no catch rule apples to the floor not the entire location. For example, I could kill the Rattata in my first encounter on Sprout tower 2nd floor, but I can catch whatever I find on the 3rd floor. To make up for this, I will place everywhere I have gone before still off limits.
Also, I will use the name rater because my naming so far has been terrible.
Claire the pokemon: Got that right. You didn't tell them that I have the same name as your avatar!
Claire the Player: So I'm absent minded whatever.
Claire: Yeah. And you haven't characterized us at all until November 22. Good job. You aren't in the spirit of things. Your team would like a word with you. I mean you haven't even described our natures to this point!
Claire the Player: Fine I'll amend it jeez. Been busy...
Claire the pokemon: Lazy you mean. You're run is boring no one will fav it.
Claire the Player: I can put you in your ball for a time out!
Claire the pokemon: Enjoy the Union Cave that way.
TrainerClaire: *looks at my pokedex and sees PokeClaire has a Hardy nature and is somewhat stubborn* Thanks Professor Elm. You gave me an effeminate pokemon who ends up being not only a guy but also the most abrasive possible.
PokeClaire: Hey you picked me.
TrainerClaire: *rubs temple and mutters* Should of switched you in against Falkner... until next time!

Well I had some good luck as I caught probably the best pokemon I could ever get in the first few areas, a female Geodude at Rt 46. I named her ToughCooki as she will be my rock and find out later her nature fits the name. I can do a lot with this pokemon. So after some grinding I made it to Violet City. I caught an ekans at Rt 42 to bolster my team since my starter is at a disadvantage against Faulkner. Here's to hoping I can get a ghastly in the bellsprout tower. Since I have the grass starter, I probably won't get a bellsprout though maybe it wouldn't be a terrible idea so I can give some of the grass TMs to it.

Well did a lot of hard grinding to prepare for Falkner so it would be painless and wanted to try and get ghastly in the Sprout Tower. I failed that but got future HM monkey Ameila the male Rattata (she was born that way and not a mistake of me not paying attention to gender XD).
So I beat the Tower, and thanks to Cooki's rock throw, Falkner very easily. So got the first badge and will be making my way to Azalea. I would like a Slowpoke and will probably not geta bug until I can get a pure bug type in the bug catching game.
I have some ideas for more creative names, any suggestions?
