Kim Myeong finished her jog and sat down at a worn down picnic table outside of the dorm room to drink some water from her licensed water bottle. Sweat drenched the tall young woman's red shorts and white tank top decorated with a flying barnstormer. Kim's father is a stunt pilot hence the décor. Her father's career in the U.S. Air Force sent him to Korea which allowed him to meet her Korean mother. That was the only explanation Kim could give as to why she reached over six feet tall.

When Kim found herself afraid of heights, she had to find other ways to spend time with her father. She ran with him on weekly mile long runs. As she grew older, the runs grew longer going from one mile to two, to three, to four, to five, and finally six miles. In the end, it paid off since she found herself with a full ride to college in cross country. The young woman took off her sweatband and sunglasses before drinking more water. Her training for next season was going well. At this rate, she would beat her best times.

Suddenly, she felt something soft press against her. She shot up from the bench and looked around to see what happened dropping her bottle in the process. She was alone. Before she could look upwards,  she yet again felt like the touch of a pillow. Blue lights swirled in her vision blinding her. She stumbled trying to reach for the bench, but she lost all sense of direction and nearly fell towards the dorm. Recovering quick, an odd sensation rushed over her rendering her numb. She then felt another pillow slap and her body locked up, her arms clenched to her side and facing towards the resident's hall.

Kim felt from the waist down her body was being pulled and pushed. Twice more some unseen force collided with her continuing the blue light twinkling in front of her. Try as she might, she could only stare straight ahead her mouth as shut as a statue's.  She mentally panicked as it seemed as if the building in front of her was growing in size!

Her legs fused together stretching out to form the shape of a plastic, red cartoony propeller plane. Her feet rounded out into wheels under her new body to support the plane as its weight tilted it backwards. Kim shouted a mental explicative at her tilting back and helplessness to stop it. Kim's shirt sleeves extended and covered her hands. The cloth then split leaving gloves as white as clouds upon Kim's hands as the rest of her shirt became woolly classic flight coat. Next, Kim's skin smoothed out into reflective, jointed plastic. All of her hair pulled onto her head shifting into a pink pilot's cap and goggles that rested atop her head.

As suddenly as she lost control, Kim regained it. She was baffled for a moment seeing the dorm building in front of her as large as a city apartment building where she grew up! Then Kim also realized something else new, she couldn't feel anything!  She reached to pinch her arm only to scream in shock when she saw her hand was a single mitt. She tried to flex it, but it did not bend! Her wrist joint could move as could her elbow but she lost all dexterity in her hand.

Kim's new garb reminded her of the flight jacket she remembers her father wearing when he was a stunt pilot. The toy plane forgot for a moment her predicament as she recalled watching her father fly. She loved it every time! The dashing hero that flew through the air with such grace one forgot that the plane had a pilot. She asked him many times how he did it because of course she was concerned for his safety, especially as he advanced in age. He would comfort her by telling her everything he did to keep himself in the air with passionate detail. It made her want to be with him so bad!

Kim jarred herself back into reality by looking down to her new body because she was speechless as to the state of her prized legs- now the lack thereof. From the waist down she appeared as if her torso was sticking out of a colorful children's toy propeller plane! She even had a pilot's steering wheel in her cockpit. Kim's eyes widened in horror when she peered over her shoulder to see the (her) tail of the plane resting on what she presumed was an tail wheel. The worst of it was what was not in the cockpit with her, Kim feared the worst when she could not see or feel her precious legs.

"Help!" She shouted trying to use her stiff hands to amplify her tiny voice. She prayed that this was somehow all in her mind, "Somebody help me!"

"You don't need help, my dear." Kim heard a woman's soft voice behind her. She tried, and failed, to turn to see who was talking.

"You just need someone to play with you." The soft voice continued as delicate hands wrapped around Kim's body.

"Whoa! Put me down!" Kim shouted once she was lifted into the air by the hands. The toy was frightened by the fact she could feel the touch of fingers through her new body. Kim beat her mitten hands on the side of the cockpit, but the voice behind her laughed. And then the hands guided her into a nose dive! Wind rushed past her ears as she raced to the concrete below. She closed her eyes and covered them with her mitts in an effort to fight the wooziness that was enveloping her.

"Nrrrrrrroww." The woman holding her pulled Kim out of the dive and back into the air, making airplane noises along the way.

"Don't do that! Stop! Why did you do this to me!?" Kim pleaded as the person holding her spun around in circles weaving her through the air.

The woman laughed, and kept flying Kim into the dorm building and to a perch on a wooden table. She brought Kim to a halt with a screeching sound. The little pilot dared to uncover and open her eyes. "There, there, little  toy. All safe now."

A blue light suddenly lit up the space next to Kim, and her water bottle changed into a red remote control that matched the cartoony of her plane. It looked perfect for controlling a toy plane, Kim specifically.

"Why? Dear toy, all I have done was manifest your inner desire." She said patting Kim's head, "I shall explain to you how your controller works so that you may pass the information to your owner."

"Owner!?" Kim shrieked, "You have to be kidding!"

"Of course not," The fairy retorted with a polite smile, "Now, listen carefully as I have never made a toy quite like you before. The magic remote has two features. Firstly, a button that starts your plane and allows you to fly by yourself! However, tell your owner to be careful. If it is pressed again while your plane is running you will stop in your tracks. Secondly, there is a control stick that allows your owner to take direct control."

"I hope you have fun with your new owner. You'll then see how fun life as a toy can be!" The woman giggled one last time before leaving Kim alone.

The toy plane regained her senses, and took stock of the giant world she was left in then cried out in despair, "Help! Somebody help me! Do not play with me, just help me please!"

"What the...?" Another voice, this one still feminine but firm, came from behind Kim. The toy pilot heard the swishing of jeans and watched a raven haired girl walk into her view. She looked like any other campus girl - jeans, chucks, and an unzipped university hoodie over her tank top. The girl's raven hair looked like a waterfall from Kim's new perspective; in addition, the girl had piercing bright green eyes.

"You! Will you please help me?" Kim pleaded desperately. She held her hands out in front of her as if praying. The girl above her did look familiar, she reminded Kim of a cheerleader. She certainly had the lithe frame of one. But why would she be here when she could be off at home or on the beach or something? She might be a Resident Assistant.

"Oh my god! A talking toy!" The girl squeaked in surprise as she took a step back.

"I am not a toy." Kim said gritting her plastic teeth.

The strange girl raised disbelieving eyebrows as she moved back towards Kim crouching to get a better look, "Then what are you? This has to be some kind of prank."

"My name is Kim," Kim shouted angrily motioning her mitts to herself, "and one minute I'm cooling down from my run, and... and the next I'm like… this because of some fairy!"

The green eyed young woman examined the unbelievable sight before her. She touched the plane and it was indeed plastic. Suddenly, there was a bright blue flash. The stranger's gaze shot over to out of Kim's vision towards where it came from, the toy guessed it came from the lobby.

"When you were a person, did a blue flash make you a toy?" The cheer leader asked.

Kim nodded, "Yes. Like I said some… fairy with a wand came up behind me and did this to me!"

"Alright." The cheerleader replied with a hint of scheming as she picked up the remote in one hand and then Kim in her other, "I'll help you out."

Kim gawked at both how easy it was to grip her plane from the bottom and also how light she was! The cheerleader then made her way towards dorm's main entrance, "Wait, there are some things you need to know about my… the controller."

----------------------

Alicia sat upon one of the four faded crème couches in the main lobby of the dorm skimming her theater application textbook. The empty dorm lobby (save for her) was the intersection of the main entrance to the dorm, a door leading to the courtyard, and four other doors. Two led to the bottom floor halls, and the other two led to stairs that led to the upper halls. Now that the cocoa skinned Latina drama major was taking upper division theater classes, she lamented not seeing her boyfriend Ryan so often. However, after a lengthy discussion the pair reached an understanding on time allocation. They would take a day away from one another so that they would not interfere with each other's schoolwork.  She laughed to herself at the thought that the English major needed that much time to read the assigned and write papers whether he'd admit it or not.

Alicia found being alone when reading better since her roommate Jessie could get a little nutty when she needed inspiration. She liked the girl, but during creativity droughts she could be hard to be around. Alicia continued to read until she was interrupted by a tap on her shoulder. When she turned she was taken aback by the… woman dressed up like a fairy smiling back at her.

Alicia gaped at the woman who appeared as if she stepped out of a story book. On the other hand, the blue stranger peered around Alicia to study her book. The Latina, on the other hand, could not get over the woman's ethereal appearance. The theater student motioned towards the fairy's pointed ears, "What material did you make those ears? They look more lifelike than any I've seen."

"You could say they were a gift." The fairy answered, "You seem to have an eye for detail, and the theater."

Alicia nodded pulling out the note beside her, "It's only my utmost passion. I have been writing a few plays myself since I've met ."

"What is your favorite play?" The fairy asked holding her wand behind her.

"Well, I have loved Peter Pan since I was a child. I have admired that it is a part historically portrayed by a woman." The Latina answered.

The blue fairy raised her wand, "I love that one as well! I say we put on our own play, Peter Pan would be perfect!"

The fairy waved her wand. Sparkles flew out from the tip and gathered around two of the lobby couches. They changed into a ten foot square wooden stage with red curtains surrounding it. Four wooden posts supported the curtains, each of which could be drawn back.

Alicia gawked, "Wow… what did you do?!"

"A pinch a faith, an ounce of trust, but the key ingredient is pixie dust." The fairy giggled.

Alicia shook her head giggling at the reference. She stepped onto the stage and pulled back the curtain to reveal… nothing. She walked into the middle of the stage mystified. The wood creaked from her steps. She felt a tingling in the air, but she didn't know if it was her own excitement or some sort of magic.

The fairy watched the actress upon the stage, "How would you like to perform upon my stage? Not just for me, but for whosoever open these curtains?"

Alicia glanced back to the fairy confused, "I wouldn't mind it, it's just I don't have a scripts or anything."

The blue fairy's wand glowed, "Oh, you won't need one."

"What do you... wah!" Alicia squeaked as she felt herself lift into the air for but a brief moment upon a gust of wind with blue sparkle. The gust felt cool as it washed over her. Alicia's stomach flipped a few times, and then she felt... strung up. Like something was above her holding her by her wrists and ankles. Her hands were raised above her head and she was dangling limply on her knees. Once she plopped back down, a distinct sound caught her ear- the thunk of wood. Her eyes widened when she saw her clothes remained the same, but she noticed that her wrists and ankles had strings attached. She followed the strands up to a… marionette handle floating above her?!

"Wha- what did you do to me?" She inquired as she pointed at the fairy.

"I made you the perfect performer!" The blue fairy replied with glee skipping closer, "You see, you can move as long as you are upon your stage. Leave it and you become immobile. Also, what is an actress without her dressing room?"

The fairy closed the curtain despite Alicia opening her mouth to protest. The curtain closed around her, and she found herself silenced and immobile because her strings pulled taunt. No amount of will could bring her to act.

"I would like to see a performance of Peter Pan." Alicia heard the fairy say. She was blinded for an instant by blue light. Then her curtain opened up leaving her feeling loose as she resumed control. The fairy changed a billboard that Alicia faced into a grand embroidered mirror so the actress could get a good look at herself.

She looked down now that she was able. She found herself wearing unmistakably a Paris green unitard, she has worn so many in her career she had long grown used to it, and over that a forest green cotton tunic. Also on her feet was brown cotton boots that imitated leather; finally, there was a plastic sword on her and a feathered cap that matched her tunic.

Alicia reached out startled at her new form, but stopped remembering the words of the fairy that she could not leave the stage. She rubbed her face… her cocoa skin was now velvet. Underneath the velvet was cotton, yet she was not squishy like a teddy bear. There was something solid underneath the marionettes outer covering like a skeleton. She rubbed deep enough and felt what felt like a knot on a log. She ran her fingers through her hair. Her raven hair was now black yarn, and it changed to match the play. Instead of flowing to her shoulders, it was now more boyish.

After that, she got a better look at her face. Her mouth agape in surprise, her nose, blush upon her cheeks, her eyes and her brows… all of it appeared, painted on as if she was a two dimensional painting. However, every feature was dynamic like a flowing cartoon. She tested it out by closing one eye and sticking out her tongue. Sure enough, she saw a tongue come out, but she touched it and all she felt was smooth velvet.

"Huh, nifty." She said more impressed than terrified right now. She remembered her past of prepping for a show. Hours in make-up and costume, all accomplished in her present state in less than a minute.  As for a script, she could see the entire script for Peter Pan within her mind now that she thought about it. All she needed to do was her passion, act.

"I know! Magic is the best thing ever right?" The fairy said with a fist pump.

"But what will my boyfriend think..." Alicia mused concerned her thoughts returning to her beloved.

"He could join you on the stage." The fairy suggested her wand tip sparkling.

Alicia shook her head, "No, he's too shy."

"So? You can both be toys so that you can be played with together!" The fairy retorted rather upbeat.

That sounded rather compelling to Alicia. She had grown accustomed to her new self, and also she could live her dream of performing for an audience as long as there was one to perform for. Her make-up, costumes, and even the scripts were covered for her so she could be the star of the show. Her own one woman show… alone. The thought of taking this opportunity with her soul mate, her knight in a t-shirt, her poet in jeans. The thought of being without him on this adventure was unbearable.

"Well…" the marionette sighed, "He's coming here soon. We could talk to him about..."

"Alicia?" A familiar masculine voice called out from behind her, "Is that you?"

The marionette spun around so fast she almost tangled her strings. She saw Ryan standing in the doorway coming from a bottom floor hall. The English major was a tall young brunette with baby blue eyes that made Alicia' heart soar every time she gazed into them.

Even now when he looked upon the scene dumbfounded Alicia admired his sincerity. Sure, Ryan was skinny as a rail and sure he wore glasses instead of contacts. However, Alicia knew on the blind date they did at a University event when he spoke his poetry that she was enamored with him. Thrice burned in love, Alicia knew the value of a man who was not only a smooth speaker but embodied fidelity.

Alicia blushed, "Yes, it's me Ryan."

He walked forward reaching out to her. She did the same and they embraced upon the stage his arms around her middle and hers around his neck as if they were dancing. He was taller than her before she became a marionette, and even as an animate toy she still was a good foot shorter. She heard Ryan fall short of breath after giving her new form a closer look, "I don't believe it… you are like a puppet!"

Alicia withdrew with a frightful frown, "Are you mad?"

Ryan shook his head his confusion giving way to a compassionate smile, "Be it fate or circumstance by which we live our life, I will stand by you in the face of whatever fury or strife. I always want to be with you, and I know that you want to be with me too."

Alicia's loving eyes gazed into his. She heard sobbing behind her and pulled away Ryan to turn her neck (maybe a little more than she could as a human) to see the blue fairy dabbing her eyes with a sparkling handkerchief, "How sweet!"

Ryan looked to the fairy with utmost awe, "You, you did this didn't you?"

The fairy nodded poofing the handkerchief away, "I had a thing or two to do with making her inner desires reality."

Ryan gulped his face full of nervousness. However, he stifled it enough to stammer out, "Please, can you- do the same to me?"

Alicia looked back to her love concerned, "Ryan..."

Ryan gave her a smile of a man who was not confident, only determined. Alicia hugged him resting her head against his chest, "If you are sure you want to do this Ryan, then I won't stop you."

The blue fairy wiped another tear from her eyes, "I would be honored to reunite you two. You would make an adorable pair of marionettes~!"

Suddenly, there was a buzzing noise in the lobby. Out of nowhere,  a small toy plane with what looked like a person inside flew around the lobby. It sounded faintly that the person inside was cussing like a sailor. The plane dive bombed at the blue fairy. Alicia heaved in surprise as Ryan pulled her down so he could shield her. The fairy barely managed to duck out of the way.

"Naughty toy! You almost hit me!" The blue fairy shouted as she rose shaking her fist, "Your owner needs to be more careful with your controls! And if that is you in control little toy, I command you to cease and desist!"

While the plane rose and circled, Ryan got off of Alicia but stayed close ready to get in between the plane and his girlfriend. She watched the toy plane, but at the mention of a controller she looked around for the person who could be doing such a thing. She saw in the doorway a cheerleader R.A. she chatted with once. She remembered her name was Trixie. Trixie was watching the plane with eager delight. She looked like some of Alicia's video gaming buddies when they are in the zone. The plane dove down again. The fairy tried to shoot the pane with magic, but she missed. Alicia gasped as the pilot of the plane reached out and took the wand from the fairy's grip! The pilot bank back over to Trixie and flew through the door Trixie held open. The pilot dropped the wand into the cheerleader's left hand.

Alicia saw the horrified face of the Blue Fairy as she stumbled around in disbelief before lowering herself onto her knees. Alicia pulled away from Ryan attempting to rush to her aid, but she stopped herself at the end of the stage remembering the fairy's words. Ryan went off the stage and tried to help the fairy back up. Ryan could only watch as the Blue Fairy's dress faded into a dull, rusty brown; then her hair changed to a sandy brunette. Next, her ears shrank to human proportions. Finally, her wings shattered like broken glass her gossamer magical aura fading with it. Alicia bowed her head towards the sobbing former fairy in Ryan's arms.

Trixie tossed the controller she held aside and held the fairy's wand out in front of her to admire it. As she did, a faint blue glow surrounded her. Her hair and her clothing changed to the same pale blue that characterized the first fairy.  The cheerleader's ears also became more elfish. However, a difference between the new fairy and the old one was her wings. Instead of a butterfly's wings, the new fairy exhaled contently as abstract wings sprouted from her shoulder blades. They looked like octagon pixels that formed three distinct pairs of wings.

The former fairy sucked up her tears still appearing as if she was struck by a great blow,  "I, the former wand wielder Anna, do willingly accept that you are wielder of the magic I formerly possessed. I have had it for a long time. Although, hear me out child. I will be more than willing to tutor you in your new abilities..."

Trixie stared unimpressed at the woman's appeals, "I'm good at figuring things out on my own thanks."

Anna remained silent still holding onto Ryan for support. Ryan scowled at the new fairy not liking any of this.

Trixie shrugged tapping the wand that rested in her left hand against her free palm. Her eyes were dead set on Anna, "Well, let's see what I can make you."

Anna's eyes widened in horror when she saw the new fairy grin like a Cheshire cat, "Child, that is not what your power is meant for-"

"Something that can't speak!." Trixie interrupted pointing the wand at Anna. The inexperienced fairy closed her eyes in concentration as the wand tip sparked, but only sporadically.

The former fairy at first tensed up when the wand was aimed at her, but she then relaxed looking to Ryan, "Quick! Leave me and go to Alicia. Become her owner."

Ryan opened his mouth to object, but Alicia called out to him, "Ryan, if I am to be a toy for the rest of my days I would rather you be my owner than anyone else in the world."

He gently let Anna go. When she stood on her own, Ryan ran over to Alicia and hugged her tightly as he peered into her drawn on eyes, "I will be your owner, but only in the sense that you are a toy and I am not."

Alicia beamed, "I understand."

They then kissed like they did when they were both human, without inhibition. The kiss was interrupted by a blinding blue flash! The pair looked over in time to see a massive wooden cabinet where Anna once stood. The ordinate cabinet was large enough to fit three people within it and tall enough to have a person fit comfortably on each of their shoulders. Atop the cabinet was a clock that seemed to accurately detail the local time.

Trixie strolled around the clock running her hand along its artistic grooves humming to herself. Alicia felt Ryan hold her close.

"Interesting result." Trixie mused to herself as she admired her first creation, "I didn't know what it would do. Something tells me that it's less about my thoughts on the result and more on what the recipient's feels."

She suddenly fired a blast of magic at Ryan who barely managed to pull his hands up defensively, but Alicia knew that it would make zero difference. The blinding blue light swirled around him for a moment, but then disappeared with a 'poof'. Ryan checked himself, he remained as human as the day he was born. However, his clothing changed. He now was dressed like he stepped out of a eighteenth century novel about pirate captains. Trixie scowled, "What?"

She tried a second time to change the English major. However, this time the magic just refracted away from him. The stray blast hit a chair turning it into a plastic pot with multicolored plastic flowers that spewed streams of bubbles. Trixie stomped her foot sneering at him, "No matter. If you wanted to be with your precious puppet Captain, then I'll help you out."

Trixie aimed at the two remaining lobby couches and fired. The magic hit it causing it to expand upwards and outwards. The couch warped into a large wooden cage that covered both the stage and the lovers. Ryan rushed to the bars trying to break free, but they were too sturdy. He banged his head against the prison defiantly. Alicia looked to Trixie who flashed a victorious grin before strolling over to the door that led to the upstairs hall.

"If you excuse me," She said with a devilish grin and wave, "I have some more playthings to make! Tutaloo lovebirds!"

Wow! The Transformer is actually undone in one of these stories for a change!

I loved the description of Trixie, she sounds both cute and naughty! Which of course she was. The sort who needs to be knocked down, and stopped, but you have to give her credit for moxie and brains in grabbing the brass ring of the situation!

I have to wonder about her wandering the school and TFing those who are there. She doesn't seem to have the power to do what she wants--but what the nature of the people she transforms will allow?

Kim overcome her fear of heights and flight--but at the expense of running? Well, becoming a doll is rather odd, I doubt that she liked that TF, cute and clever though it was. The control unit was also funny! And, of course, it let Trixie take the wand.

Ryan may be trapped, but otherwise free in body. Rocker girl with Miss Papillion might free him? What about the cabinet TF of the former fairy? I'm thinking that there is more to it? Trixie doesn't know what she's doing yet.
